PVC-U – as used for windows and doors – is not the environmental ‘bad guy’ you may have read about in the press. In fact, it’s a surprisingly planet friendly choice.
PVC-U has a long lifespan and can be recycled many times over without losing its properties.
The largest constituent of PVC-U is salt and the hydrocarbon component can be derived from biofuel sources.
PVC-U needs no paints, preservatives or other chemical treatments to protect it from the elements or from attack by pests.
PVC-U is an effective insulator. By keeping homes warmer it can reduce your energy consumption.
Recycled PVC-U is already in our products
We’re passionate about doing our bit, so whenever we can, we use recycled PVC in our production. The quality is just as good as the first time around – we wouldn’t have it any other way – and we’re doing our bit to keep waste out of landfill.
